Merge PDF Files
Combine several PDFs into one document, right in your browser. Drag the files into order, click merge, and download — nothing is uploaded, so contracts, statements, and IDs stay on your device.

How to merge PDFs in your browser
Add your files, arrange them in the order you want the pages to appear,
and click merge. Each PDF is parsed on your device, its pages are copied
into a new document one after another, and the combined file is saved to
your downloads as your-file-merged.pdf. A page count appears
next to every file once it has been read, so you can confirm you have the
right order before combining — useful when the pages of a signed contract
and its appendix arrive as separate files.
Why local merging is different
Every popular free PDF merger processes your file on a server, which means uploading a document that may contain bank details, a passport scan, or an unsigned contract. Here the work happens with JavaScript in your own browser tab: the file is read from disk, edited in memory, and written back. There is no upload, no queue, no account, and no watermark — and it works offline once the page has loaded.
What survives a merge
Pages are copied without being re-rendered, so text stays selectable, images keep their original resolution, and page-level hyperlinks keep working. What does not carry over are document-level things: bookmarks, the outline, embedded attachments, and metadata such as the original title or author, because the merged file is a new document with its own. If your PDFs are scans, the merged file will be roughly the sum of the inputs — merging does not compress images.
Merging PDFs that are password-protected or signed
Encrypted PDFs cannot be decrypted in the browser, so a password-protected file is rejected with a clear message rather than silently producing a broken result. Digitally signed PDFs can be merged, but the signature belongs to the original file and will not validate in the combined document — keep the signed original if it needs to stay verifiable. Once you have a merged PDF, the split tool can pull pages back out, the rotator can fix orientation, and PDF to JPG turns pages into images.
Frequently asked questions
How do I merge PDFs without uploading them?
Drop your PDF files onto the box above, drag them into the order you want, and click Merge. The files are read from your device, combined in your browser's memory, and saved straight back to your downloads — nothing is sent to a server at any point.
Is there a limit on how many PDFs I can merge?
There is no server-side limit because nothing is uploaded. Each file can be up to 100 MB, and the practical ceiling is your device's memory — a handful of large scanned PDFs will use more of it than a dozen small text PDFs. If the browser runs out of memory, merge in two passes.
Can I change the order of the merged PDFs?
Yes. Drag the rows to reorder them, or use the up and down buttons on each row if you prefer the keyboard. The merged file follows the list order exactly, and the first file in the list becomes the start of the combined document.
What happens to bookmarks, links, and form fields?
Merging copies each page and its content exactly as it is, so text, images, and page-level links survive intact. Document-level features — bookmarks, the outline, embedded file attachments, and document metadata like the title — are not carried over from the source files, because the combined document has its own.
Does merging a PDF reduce its quality?
No. The pages are copied without being re-rendered or re-compressed, so the content is bit-for-bit what the original files contained. The merged file is roughly the sum of the input sizes; it does not get smaller or blurrier. If you need the result to be smaller, run the merged file through a compressor afterwards.
Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
No — password-protected files cannot be decrypted in the browser, and tools that claim to do it are either uploading your file or breaking its encryption. Remove the password in the app that created it (many let you print to a new PDF without protection), then merge the unlocked copies here.
