WebToolNook is built around one promise: the files and text you work on stay on your device. This page explains exactly what that means, what the site does collect, and who else your browser talks to while you use it.

How our tools handle your files

Every tool on WebToolNook, including the Background Remover and the PDF tools, processes your images, documents, and text entirely in your browser, using your device's own processing power. Your files are never uploaded to our servers or to any third party as part of using a tool. We have no access to the images, documents, or text you process here, and nothing you type into a tool is stored anywhere but your own browser tab.

You don't have to take that on trust. Use a tool once, so any code it needs has downloaded, then switch your browser's developer tools Network panel to offline and use it again: it keeps working, because nothing needs to leave your device.

Information we collect

We collect a small amount of information automatically when you visit:

• Anonymous usage statistics through Umami, an open-source analytics tool we host ourselves at stats.webtoolnook.com. It records page views, referring site, browser, operating system, device type, and country. It uses no cookies and does not store your IP address.
• Tool events through the same Umami instance: that a file was selected, a conversion finished, a download was clicked, or an error occurred, with coarse details such as the tool name, the number of files, and a size range (for example "1–5 MB"). These events never include file names, file contents, or any text you enter.
• Standard request logs kept by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, which serves the site (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps), used for security and reliability.

Cookies

WebToolNook does not set advertising or tracking cookies. The only thing the site stores in your browser is your light/dark theme choice, kept in local storage on your own device. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to protect the site from automated abuse.

Advertising

The site does not currently show ads. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any ad network is added, including a description of the cookies it uses and how to opt out.

Third-party downloads

A few tools download code to your browser the first time you use them. The Background Remover fetches its AI model from Hugging Face (huggingface.co) and its runtime from jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net). Those services see an ordinary download request from your browser, as with any web page, but they never receive your image: the model runs locally once it has downloaded.

This site links to external sites (including the developer's portfolio at ywageeh.com). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of external sites.

Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
